If you like what you’ve read here and think: “Gosh, I wish Amy wrote for our paper / magazine / newsletter / fortune cookies / incendiary pamphlets,” please drop me a line.
Amy Vansant (me) was the East Coast Editor of SURFER Magazine for 5 years and has been published in Modern Maturity, Caribbean Travel and Life, Yankee, Chesapeake Bay Magazine, McSweeney’s Internet Tendencies, Technorati.com and others. I am the author of The Surfer’s Guide to Florida (Pineapple Press, 1995) which is currently out of print because the urge to drive up and down the Florida coast interviewing surfers has long since left me.
I have been known to prostitute my meager talents for money / fame / drinks / gifts / travel / shameless plugs.

About This Blog
Kid-Free Living is by Amy Vansant, a writer who has been deep undercover as a web company owner in Annapolis, Maryland ( http://www.VansantCreations.com ).
Everything in this blog is intended to be humorous and is more than likely tongue-in-cheek, so if you find yourself offended by any of it, chances are you’re really taking yourself, life, or me waaaay too seriously. Lighten up. Eat a bowl of Fruity Pebbles or one of the few other foods that come in fuschia. Get naked and roll in daffodils. Look at one of the 50 million videos on YouTube featuring small fuzzy animals doing unbelievably precious things. No one can be cranky watching a kitten wrestle with a June bug. But I refuse to call it a “kitteh” for you.
Also – please know I have nothing against kids in theory. Kid-Free Living was just a more interesting blog name than “Amy’s Musings on Life” which almost put me to sleep as I was typing it just now. Please don’t bother sending me emails about the joys of parenthood. I have a mother who has spent the last 15 years trying to talk me into having kids, so I’m covered there.
Amy and her husband Michael Brunell have a labradoodle, Gordon, and three web stores you might like to check out – use “kidfree” as a coupon code for 10% off at any one of them!
They are:
- DoodleSport.com (gifts for dog lovers)
- BabiesAndChildrensGifts.com (personalized childrens gifts – ironic, huh?)
- TeeShirtTShirt (general embroidered gifts).
